Brushed fabric has the characteristics of warmth preservation, beautiful appearance, and good elasticity, making it a preferred fabric for making suits. However, with the development of modern textile technology, there are more and more woolen like fabrics that are relatively cheap in price, and they still give people a false impression. Look at the color: The color of the ground wool cloth looks natural and soft, bright and without any sense of obsolescence. In contrast, fabrics made of blended or purified fibers tend to have a darker luster or a shimmering sensation.
Touch feeling: Woolen fabric usually has a soft and smooth feel, and is soft but not rigid. However, blended or purified fibers may not be as soft, while others may be too soft and loose, and may also have a sticky feeling.
Test elasticity: Use your hand to pinch the fabric tightly before releasing it immediately to see its elasticity. Generally, the rebound rate of worsted fabrics is relatively high and can be quickly restored, but the wrinkle resistance of blended or purified fiber products is relatively poor, with most of them leaving obvious crease marks or relatively slow restoration.
Burning method: Draw a bundle of yarn at the fracture of the woolen cloth, then ignite it with a match, carefully observe the speed of fiber burning, the color of the flame, and residual ash. Generally, pure wool fibers burn faster, have a small flame and a burning odor, and will immediately extinguish after leaving the fire. And the burnt ash is curly with black clumps that are easy to crush with fingers, and is in the form of powder. If there are particles of adhesive, it indicates that the fabric already contains chemical fiber components. The more hard particles of adhesive, the higher the proportion of chemical fiber components.
