In the first eight months of this year, my country's total import and export value was 27.08 trillion yuan, a slight decrease of 0.1% year-on-year. According to customs data, my country's import and export in August was 3.59 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%, a decrease of 5.8 percentage points compared with July, and a month-on-month increase of 3.9%. Data show that my country's exports in August were 2.04 trillion yuan, a month-on-month increase of 1.2% , a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%, a decrease of 6 percentage points from July; imports were 1.55 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%, a decrease of 5.3 percentage points from July.
Among the trading partners, my country's imports and exports to ASEAN have increased, and imports from the EU and the United States have increased year-on-year. According to customs data, in the first eight months, ASEAN was my country's largest trading partner, and the total trade value between my country and ASEAN was 4.11 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%. During the same period, my country's total import and export to the "Belt and Road" countries was 12.62 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.
