Rise in crude oil drives polyester prices up

At present, the main reason affecting the price of polyester yarn is the cost side. Recently, crude oil has risen by nearly 10% in a week. At present, polyester factories have raised the price of polyester yarn by 50-100 yuan/ton, and there is no concentration among factories, and the price fluctuation has lasted for 10 days. During this process, many weaving enterprises could not bear the sentiment of "buying up". The production and sales of polyester increased sharply, and the average production and sales in the past two weeks were around 70%. With the continuous support of polyester raw materials and the continuous destocking of polyester factories, the supply of some specifications of polyester filaments is tight. When the downstream is worried about the demand, the price of raw materials will rise, and the current stocking of weaving raw materials will be at a low level. The factory is preparing for winter fabrics in the second half of the year, and the willingness to stock up in advance has increased.

Such a stable production and sales data has never appeared even in the peak season. Although it is now in the off-season, it is found through research that the operating rate of many manufacturers is still 100%. And although weaving enterprises "buy up", the basic purchasing frequency has not changed, and it still maintains a rhythm of about 15 days.

Regarding the price increase of raw materials, the person in charge of a weaving company said: "At present, the price increase of polyester yarn has little impact on our production and sales. The yarn purchased before is actually produced on the machine, so the price of gray fabric will not change much."
