According to customs statistics, in the first two months of this year, my country's total import and export value was 6.18 trillion yuan, a slight decrease of 0.8% year-on-year (the same below). Among them, exports were 3.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.9%; imports were 2.68 trillion yuan, a decrease of 2.9%; the trade surplus was 810.32 billion yuan, an increase of 16.2%. In terms of U.S. dollars, the total value of my country's imports and exports in the first two months of this year was 895.72 billion U.S. dollars, a decrease of 8.3%. Among them, exports were US$506.3 billion, down 6.8%; imports were US$389.42 billion, down 10.2%; trade surplus was US$116.88 billion, up 6.8%.

In the first two months of this year, my country's foreign trade import and export mainly showed the following characteristics:

The proportion of general trade import and export increased. In the first two months, my country's general trade import and export was 4.01 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.2%, accounting for 64.9% of China's total foreign trade value, an increase of 1.3 percentage points over the same period last year. Among them, exports were 2.24 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.1%; imports were 1.77 trillion yuan, a decrease of 1.2%. During the same period, the import and export of processing trade was 1.16 trillion yuan, a decrease of 10.6%, accounting for 18.8%. Among them, exports were 768.16 billion yuan, down 6%; imports were 395.87 billion yuan, down 18.3%. In addition, my country's import and export through bonded logistics was 778.55 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1%. Among them, exports were 302.49 billion yuan, an increase of 6.8%; imports were 476.06 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6%.

Imports and exports to ASEAN increased, while exports to the European Union, the United States, and Japan declined. In the first two months, ASEAN was China's largest trading partner. The total trade value between China and ASEAN was 951.93 billion yuan, an increase of 9.6%, accounting for 15.4% of China's total foreign trade value. Among them, the export to ASEAN was 570 billion yuan, an increase of 17.9%; the import from ASEAN was 381.93 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.9%; the trade surplus with ASEAN was 188.07 billion yuan, an increase of 91.6%. The EU is China's second largest trading partner. The total trade value between China and the EU was 851.09 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.6%, accounting for 13.8%. Among them, the export to the EU was 552.83 billion yuan, a decrease of 5%; the import from the EU was 298.26 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1%; the trade surplus with the EU was 254.57 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.1%. The United States is China's third largest trading partner. The total trade value between China and the United States was 702.98 billion yuan, a decrease of 10.6%, accounting for 11.4%. Among them, exports to the United States were 494.11 billion yuan, a decrease of 15.2%; imports from the United States were 208.87 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%; the trade surplus with the United States was 285.24 billion yuan, a decrease of 24.9%. Japan is China's fourth largest trading partner. The total value of China's trade with Japan is 344.92 billion yuan, a decrease of 5.7%, accounting for 5.6%. Among them, exports to Japan were 183.56 billion yuan, an increase of 6.7%; imports from Japan were 161.36 billion yuan, a decrease of 16.8%; the trade surplus with Japan was 22.2 billion yuan, and the trade deficit was 21.84 billion yuan in the same period last year. During the same period, my country's total import and export to countries along the "Belt and Road" was 2.12 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.1%. Among them, exports were 1.25 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.2%; imports were 869.39 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6%.
